PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
Liaoning ATS Intelligent Transportation Technology Company (hereinafter referred to as ATS) dedicated to the development of intelligent transportation industry, and aimed at the connection between informational transportation and physical transportation. Physical transportation is departures and logistics, while informational transportation is data interaction. The design of entire office building utilize the both factors of intelligent transportation. On design style, we have used wider range of colors to enrich the visual experience. While the functional aspects, we have increased the informal workspace and conference area in order to achieve barrier-free communication among the staffs. the diversity of work in different departments and their office needs. Besides, we have added leisure sections such as water bars, gym and kid zone for the great importance to humanistic concern. Our ultimate goal for space design is to create a vibrant office building where our staffs can inspire innovation and passion to work.
Elevator hall
The elevator hall we have just passed by is the main entrance of the office. The yellow block cut on the wall represents that connection of physical transportation and informational transportation.
Reception
Coming out of the elevator hall is the reception where its space is combined with landscapes to create a vibrant atmosphere. The marble on the floor is shaped like a lines of water, as if it’s a lake and well-matched with mountain-like arc pattern on the back wall. It is a landscape painting indeed. The irregularly shaped ceiling represents the digital cloud, which is closely related to the corporate business, while people can perceive a feeling for science and technology by visual effect.
Water bar in reception
A water bar settled in ATS, where includes three more bars as this. According to the different functions of each workspace, those three water bars respectively correspond to three themes of land, sea and air, which provide different types of drinks. Now the water bar where we are located corresponds to the theme of road traffic, so its back wall is designed to show the road network with artistic paintings, and it provides coffee. Increasing flexibility is the original intention of setting up this types of multi-functional area, which can enrich the working hours of staffs.
Multifunctional exhibition hall
Now we are about to explore the multifunctional exhibition hall of ATS. The hall is a special place in the entire office, because it is just like the business card of the company. As you can see, the white irregular flat wall of the hall is held up in shining contrast to that of black ground. With LED lights, lighting and shadow are reflected on the ceiling as if it reflected on the water surface, which is always something of a mystery. The hall is divided into three parts, separately displayed the introduction, the business results, as well as the corporate culture of ATS, while visitors can fully understand ATS in a comprehensive view.
Platform discussion area
The platform discussion area, located in the center of the open workspace. In its design, our guideline is cars and spacecrafts, which coincide with the theme of company's smart transportation and appear futuristic. This is a place, where our employees can carry out various meetings and some small multimedia shows. With this type of open environment, our employees have more control over their work and complete their tasks in a suitable way.
Water bar in discussion area
The water bar No.2 as we mentioned above. This water bar corresponds to the theme of sky by the abstract paintings on the wall and it mainly serves the drinks as Coke and Sprite. The tables and chairs of the water bar, is also customized by transportation business of company, such as traffic cone-style high stools, and CCTV-like seats.
Gym
Considering how much pressure was on our employees, the company specially provides a gym for them, to have a healthy and active working style and environment. The wall is a simplified vicinity map of Hunhe River, yellow line represents the Hunhe River, and the blue colors of the ground and ceiling simulates the sky and the ocean. The combination of multiple colors play a key role in providing them with relaxation. Besides, the gym is also equipped with a shower room where employees can wash away their tiredness.
Kid zone
Next to the gym is our well-designed kid zone, where provides the babysitting service for employees during working hours. The design here refers to the lines of the train, the ground simulates urban roads, the walls are decorated with traffic lights. In this zone, some popular science videos about the transportation industry will be played regularly, so that children can learn more about their parents’ occupation.
Laddering active area
This large laddering active area use to hold conferences. With bright colors, as well as the lines of these platforms at different heights, can bring us a feeling of tolerance and enthusiasm. The edge of the stairs decorated with smooth lines, deliver a 3D experience as an ec type painting, and the gantry-style lighting structure of ceiling further expresses corporate close relationship with the transportation industry.
Research institute
The workspace of research institute, which is defined as the "Silicon Valley" of the company. The designing concept of its functional characteristics is to express the vitality and diversity of the city, consequently it could provide an open multi-functional place for employees. It is viewed as an interactive office center that each division here is used for preparing different pieces of work, as small meeting rooms and round tables are used for small meetings, while public desks and the brainstorming room, are used for any kinds of activities.
Conference room
Next to the workspace is the large conference room. The walls of conference room are made of felt and cork, meets the needs for pinning some documents and photos on the wall. The white glass designed here can be used as the whiteboard, and its main lighting is design with the style of gantry, along with its wide open space where accommodates more than 30 people.
Water bar in research institute
Water bar No.3 is design with the theme of shipping industry as its future development. It provides sweet drinks such as milk tea and others, because it meets the strong needs for energy so it built near the research institutes, where contains a large amount of mental workers. Counting the two water bars before, from the arrangement of these three water bars and other informal spaces, we intended to create a modernized and friendly working environment with clear vision and barrier-free function. Instead of traditional working environment, but working in this type of office with nearest leisure space, our employees can enjoy the more comfortable and flexible working conditions.
Cafeteria
Now it’s turn to our cafeteria for staffs. The design follows the typical business concept to ensure an active dining environment and efficient catering services. There is the large initials of ATS on the open space, which is made of different kinds of ceramic tiles, in order to have a strong sense of belonging for company.
Dining space
The design for dining space, uses warm brown color with lighting, to meet warm and clean visual experience. By using High tables, deck-style tables and chairs, employees can freely choose their favorite dining style. The lamp is also one of the main features of the cafeteria, which is the long, curved and extended ceiling lamp, expresses the high-efficient and fast characteristic of ATS Technology. This simple designed black iron art lamp always reminds employees not to forget their original aspiration.
Loges
Loges for cafeteria, which is divided into two functional areas, one is the dining area and the other is leisure area.
The design is consistent with the design of the wall in the public space, using regular curves to reflect the circulation of data. We deliberately chose rich colored, simple but well designed seats, which is ergonomic and comfortable to use. Hanging above the round table, is a ceiling lamp with many circles, decorates the entire space into a decent place.
Antonion Berton
Antonio Berton holds a Master in Architecture from the University of Venice in
Italy. After years of experience in different countries in Europe and Asia and
having collaborated for some of the most renewed firms in the fields among
them Kengo Kuma and Ole Scheeren. Besides practicing Antonio is also
enrolled in the academic field by teaching at XJTLU department of Architecture
and has been invited to give speeches on design issues at public and private
institution.
He moved to China in 2010 with the ideal of bringing his own “made in Italy
touch” into a new stimulating environment. He founded Young H Design, a
young and dynamic partnership of professional creatives working in the field of
interior design and architecture, developing a strong background in residential
and office spaces as well as commercials, both private and public. His cultural
background and his love for research always aims to bring substantial
craftmanship and experimentation into each project, creating composition
without rhetoric that connects contemporary elements from East and West.
