DESCRIPTION

This project is the new office of Shen Yanfang Design Studio, conceived as a multifunctional space that embodies artistic expression and diversity.
The entrance design features natural stratified rock, symbolizing the passage of time and the accumulation of design wisdom. The staircase handrail seamlessly integrates with sculptural installations, exploring the fusion of art and interior space. The recessed entrance compresses the physical entryway, creating a striking contrast with the expansive spatial openness and panoramic river view upon entering the main area, achieving a "restrained entry, dramatic reveal" spatial effect.
The main space boasts a ceiling height of 3.87 meters, with a mezzanine added in select areas to enhance spatial layering. A monochromatic palette of black and white serves as the backdrop, accentuating the changing river scenery across the seasons, aiming to present the natural landscape in its fullest expression.
In the discussion area, warm wooden finishes are introduced to soften the interplay of black and white, imbuing the space with warmth and tranquility amidst its refined ambiance. To expand perspectives and enhance spatial layering, a mezzanine is ingeniously incorporated, echoing the fluid curves of the entrance. The staircase spirals around a structural column, transitioning from solid to ethereal, blending functionality with art. This design allows individuals to experience a sense of ritual and inspires deeper tranquility and reflection as they move through the space.
Here, "space" transcends its role as a physical container. Through a deliberate orchestration of spatial progression—starting with restraint and culminating in revelation—it awakens introspection, making every pause an opportunity for emotional and intellectual resonance. As a result, the beauty of the space extends beyond visual appeal, offering a profound appreciation for life and a heightened sense of ritual.
