Enyang Ancient Town is a typical mountain field town in Northeast Sichuan, and is also a typical case of the inheritance of Ba Shu culture in traditional ancient towns. Benefiting from its unique natural environment, Enyang Ancient Town has formed a unique architectural culture and spatial organisation in the course of its thousand-year history. At the same time, Enyang, known as ‘Little Shanghai’, is an important water dock on the Mi Cang Road, and one of the most prosperous ancient towns on the Road. It is also one of the most prosperous ancient towns on the Mi Cang Road. With the poopdeck of a thousand miles and prosperous trade, there is a saying of ‘Enyang River in the morning and evening’.
The greatest highlight of this project is the immersive neighbourhood experience project created by combining the site and the building. The fusion of culture and space shapes a Song style story that originates from Enyang, shows Enyang and represents Enyang. From this story, our project has a soul. An excellent cultural tourism project should have a story of the times behind it, which is born in Enyang and grown in Enyang. Starting from the story, every visitor and every traveller can become the protagonist of the story in the tour, and learn about Enyang, feel Enyang, and read Enyang in wandering and roaming. Our Song Feng story is the core of this design and the starting point for the revitalisation of Enyang's cultural tourism industry.
