PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
The project is the office of SRTC in Shanghai. It is a detached building, covering a gross floor area of about 3,000 square meters.
"To be fully adaptive as per the way nature propels" is the core of SRTC’s corporate values, which draws on traditional Chinese philosophy. According to ancient wisdom, "adaptive" expresses the capability of water being compatible with all kinds of containers or water channels regardless of whatever obstacles may con-front; "as per" refers to "abide by" or "respond to"; "nature" indicates discipline or order, yet in this project it refers to the space for retaining radio waves; "propel" means moving into the particular situation that you are required to so that responsibilities may be fulfilled. That’s why SRTC’s ideologies of "being as adaptive as water" and "pushing forward wisely to seize momentum" resonate so precisely with the excellent characteristics of "water": possessing both hardness and softness in temperament; adopting flexible yet persuasive strategies in mediating conflicts; retaining pliability to strengthen resistance to break; and triumphing over superior forces with inferior conditions. Therefore, the design is intended to reflect those supreme properties in terms of "softness", "continuity", "curvilinearity" and "rotation".

DESCRIPTION
The logo of SRTC is presented in two colors, of which the red symbolizes trust, enthusiasm and energy, while the black indicates justice and preciseness. In addition, the graphic on the upper left corner of the letter "R" is a reflection of radio waves, which embodies the attribute and formal feature of the industry.
The color of "red" and the form of "radio wave" are the sources of inspiration for the spatial design. As an effulgent hue, red can easily release a lingering potency in people’s mind and last for a long time; in the meantime, repeating cycles of a radio wave trigger boundless imagination, stimulating people with art complex to associate it with "The Starry Night" painted by master artist Vincent van Gogh.
The spatial design incorporates a selection of art works, intended to inject vitality and spirit and bring life to the space. However, beyond the interaction between people and space, the presence of these art pieces is not enough to accumulate such a metamorphosis to create a distinct temperament of its own, as they barely acts as an "expression" or "gesture" of the space. On the contrary, Mother Nature gives life to all beings in the world. Therefore, the designers tried the best to invite outside nature inside so as to consolidate the vigor gene of this space, and to make the office an intimate place to engage with nature.

DESCRIPTION
The background wall behind the front reception desk is constructed in the form of blocks being stacked layer by layer, and is extended at the ceiling with reflective materials to continue the tendency outward. This not only gives visitors space for imagination but also conveys the company's vision for a more brilliant and prosperous future.
The pattern of the backdrop wall at the lobby illustrates the form of a "radio wave", and integrates with that of the floor. Both feature infinite cycles and echo each other.
So in a sense, this project is actually an "exclusive, customized" design scheme. The designers, through re-search and analysis of the enterprise background, incorporated SRTC’s DNA into the construction of space. Based on industry attribute, the team extracted "radio wave" as a decorative element, and employed infinite cycles as a formal language throughout the entire design. In addition, the integration of red, and the iconic color of the enterprise, encourages a temptation to match forward in the space. The artistic expression of Vincent van Gogh’s "Starry Night" and the introduction of natural green plants embed the space with tension and flexibility, and feature it with culture and vitality.
