DESCRIPTION
Haimen, known as the "gateway to rivers and seas", is located at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Yellow Sea, bordering Nantong in the west and the Yangtze River in the south, facing the international metropolis Shanghai across the river. Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist, politician and educator, was born here in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. He founded more than 20 enterprises and more than 370 schools in his life, which made outstanding contributions to the rise of modern national industry and the development of education in China, and indisputably became a learning model and spiritual leader for all Haimen people.
The memorial architecture is located at the back of the central axis of the Cultural Park, with a symmetrical architectural pattern and a solemn atmosphere. The roof is treated in the Xieshan way, which echoes the Xieshan of the original architecture. The architectural layout emphasizes the space atmosphere of the symmetrical layout of the eclectic style architecture of the Republic of China, and cooperates with the square in front of the museum and greening, forming the design and construction of the whole architectural style of the Republic of China. The interior exhibition adheres to the design concept of basing on tradition and integrating Chinese and Western, combs the culture in the later modern spirit, takes recognizable symbols as the basis of interpretation, and makes every effort to interpret the beauty of harmony between ancient and modern times.
There are two layers of exhibition space, which presents an "I" shape on the plane, and makes the whole space rich in layers and clear in orientation. The symmetrical architectural space of the first floor of the exhibition hall creates a solemn and heavy cultural and historical situation. Looking from the front, Zhang Jian's jade statue is standing inside the Gate of Achievement, with selaginella tamariscina behind it, and the prospect is the traditional big wooden door of vermilion. Here, East and West, tradition and modernity, time and space interact and coexist harmoniously. The Gate of Achievement effectively accommodates two constructional columns, at the same time, it increases the depth of field, has certain symbolic significance, echoes with tradition, and effectively forms the keynote of exhibition space. The left and right walls are respectively stone carvings of Zhang Jian's profile and Zhang Jian's cultural relief. The design uses the form of "picture scroll" to present the wonderful chapters of Zhang Jian's rich and colorful life and brilliant achievements in front of the viewer through "picture scroll".
As the wine culture exhibition hall in the memorial hall, Yisheng wine has a history of more than 100 years, and the design of the exhibition hall rejects modernity and commercialization. Instead, it should be built into a cultural space with a heavy sense of history and traditional characteristics, and at the same time become a wine cultural space with considerable visitors, tours, rewards and tastes. The design adopts the garden-style spatial processing technique, and organically combines functions and forms through elements such as wall doors, climbing corridors and pavilions to create a garden-style three-dimensional wine culture exhibition space with both North and South characteristics.
The souvenir shop is the "end" of the whole exhibition space, which is changed from the original office space. The traditional wooden door pages are used in this space, and six fully open doors are "sky-high", forming its own characteristics and features while continuing the exhibition space of Yisheng wine culture. The furniture is antique and the top shines brightly, creating a warm and quiet small space.
The light and color effect of the corridor space on the second floor depends on the architectural brick window. In the design, colored art glass is used here, and the colorful light is reflected on the plain white wall, which has a unique charm. In fact, colored window windows have been used in traditional gardens for a long time, such as the Thirty-six Mandarin Duck Museum in Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden. We try to innovate without deviating from the traditional spirit.
