PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Located in Huangling Scenic Area in Wuyuan county, Jiangxi Province, this project is far away any human habitation and boasts splendid scenery. Huangling Village, over 500 years old, was established in the Middle Ming Dynasty, and its local architecture featured the traditional Hui style, plain yet solemn. The overall appearance of the village is dominated by a color scheme of gray and white, contrasting with the green characterizing the terrace. The change of the sky and seasons lends exterior walls different colors, rendering the overall ambience as secluded and profound as a dreamland. Additionally, rooftops have become the major venue where locals dry their crops, as Huangling lies on the mountains with few flats. Each household makes adjustment to the natural terrain by putting up drying racks on the top floor. At this time of the year, undulating rooftops of Huangling Village transform into a canvas, turning the village into a varicolored landscape in a picturesque disorder. The locals name the scene of sun-drying crops “shaiqiu”, a time-honored practice prevalent in many Chinese villages during harvest time in autumn. Having had paid a visit to Huangling Village, recorded in great detail and summarized the abovementioned characteristics, a design team, centering on the topic of “shaiqiu”, tailored a construction scheme of minshuku to the village. Hence the origin of this project, Huangling Shaiqiu Meisu Hotel.

The first five sets of houses are all post-built, its shape, structure and choice of materials retaining the simplicity, naturalness and austerity of the region so as to tally with the harmonious co-existence of the local village with nature. The instant visitors push open the door and step into the room, they can sense visually the sharp contrast between the slightly rough, plain materials and the exquisite, elaborate interior collocation. Based on Hui-style notion of “nestled on the mountains comes strength, naturalness and felicity”, the design team incorporated into it the aesthetic concept of “wabi-sabi” originating from constructions featuring Japanese Yamato Culture, namely, harmony, simplicity, tranquility, naturalness and appreciation of beauty in imperfection. The wabi-sabi aesthetics holds that everything in the world has its own cycle of birth, ageing, sickness and death. Only when one thing is imperfect do its form of existence and meaning remain “natural”, “complete” and admirable. In this project, the concept is reflected by the revelation of its rustic yet still-in-vogue aura, rough texture, exquisite details, and the natural landscape created artificially. It is exactly due to its imperfection in each and every facet that it’s complete and beautiful in its own cycle of birth, ageing, sickness and death. In terms of the interior layout, the design team incorporated substantially time-honored local history and traditional culture into it, such as the woven cloths draped over the bed, wooden decorations hanging by the windows, the bamboo crafts adorning the walls, etc. In this way, both contemporary and ancient notions collide with each other within such tiny rooms, the traditional aesthetics integrates with overseas thinking, and the construction situated in the deep mountains displays a special kind of vitality and fashion.

Yuanshe·Huaigu
PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Hidden in the valley of moganshan, eight white houses are so mysterious that the rolling hills around them arouse people's curiosity.
X-living is a new attempt and experience of yuanshe to the huai valley project. In the future, huai valley will become a large community with farmland, fruit trees, flowers, neighbors and life. It's a place where time is quiet and mellow, and it's, it's more than that, it's full of possibilities.
When I first met huai gu, I felt like stepping into another time and space. It is a homestay and an art center in progress forever. The designer reorganized and interpreted the concept of "time", using light and shadow to perceive the aesthetics of life, in which people participated and got acquainted with huaigu. In a sense, the valley was a surrealist experiment.
Designers have been trying to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, breaking the shackles of some traditional designs. Into the valley of huai, meet a "light box", the designer will be thick wall break originally, on the choice of material is full of surprises, transparent glass brick instead of solid bricks, light through the glass, enter indoor, space boundary is eliminated at the moment, time is slow, together with the inside and outside, is permeated with a warm and soft filter.
The transparent wall allows the light to create freely in the space, keeping "never finished". Just like huai valley, it keeps exploring x-living.
Enter indoor, hall of booth did sink processing, the underlying overhead, a water flows along the valley of huai, stack height, have been to here, wall was cancelled, water is free, the booth is surrounded by water, just like the water island, peaceful and grow in the infinitely, designers use nature gives space life force.
The best part of travel is often the fantasy. The bar design is full of bright spots, in-depth elaboration of the "halo bar", alcohol let a person have more fantasy, top flowing a river, sparkling water, night, the water is more illusory. For the designer, this is a very valuable artistic experience, and at the same time conveys the new lifestyle of huaigu and the positioning of love of art.
In the design of guest room space, the designer has been using the light to achieve different degrees of space overlap, the nature of poetry into the interior, here linger, experience, imagine the most beautiful moganshan.
Often plain and primitive space can move a person more, reason stylist is indoor did not do too much adornment, maintaining the attitude that respects primitive, restore the essential beauty of the space with natural, bare structure, also gifted a space more possibility.
The tatami chair is placed beside the floor-to-ceiling glass window. You can enjoy the scenery with tea. It is very comfortable.
Day and night, light and shadow move, at the moment, light and shadow become the leading role of the space, and the space also becomes the container that records time. In the wye valley, forget the time.

Transformation of an old laundry house into a design studio and fashionable residential accommodation
PROJECT

INFORMATIONS

Originally a corner businessman of high-rise residential buildings in the 1990s, the old and dilapidated laundry shop has a space of about 120 square meters on the second floor. After transformation, the first floor is transformed to a design studio and the second floor turned out to be a fashionable residential accommodation in the city.
The first floor is a reception area in the public area, where independent workspace is set up. The public area acts as a way for residential guests and does not interfere with each other in the independent office space.
On the first floor, a small toilet was designed craftly within very limited space below the stairs.
The second floor is a comfortable suite with one room, one hall, one kitchen and one bathroom. The original pipes are skillfully used to set up adequate reception function. The irregular space of the household type was redesigned to a regular square space by a new-built projector screen wall and an independent linen room, which improves the comfort experience as well as solves the functional problems of residential operation.

Yuanshe Raoshu
PROJECT INSTRUCTION

INFORMATIONS

Yuanshe Raoshu is in the mountains of Songyang. The road to the residence is the old Tea-Horse road, which is still full of grass and trees. There is an ancient tree in the sky for hundreds of years at the intersection. Under the tree is a small temple with very good rumors. On both sides of the road are farmlands and tea gardens. There are abundant herbs in Songyang. Along the way, you can see green hills, bamboo forests, wind blows, road fatigue. And it vanished into the mountains.

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Shen Hui, a poet of the Song Dynasty, once described Songyang in his poem "The First Solution to Songyang": "Peach Blossom Source is the only place where there is no other danger." Standing on the viewing platform of the residential quarters overlooking the mountains and valleys, you will feel that the "Peach Blossom Source" depicted in the poem is the immediate scene. "Be loyal to nature, blend in the mountains" is the original intention of the site selection, but also the biggest selling point.
The open-air swimming pool is facing the green hills.
The Hanshu village where Yuanshe Rangshu is located is located in the high mountains over 800 meters above sea level, surrounded by continuous green hills and clouds all the year round. You can see the villages and fields in the distance at a glance.
Under the embellishment of rammed earth wall, barrier stone and logs, the appearance of the residential quarters is simple and generous.
They wrapped up the whole village so that the whole residential quarters could be perfectly integrated with nature. Buildings were scattered layer by layer according to the mountain topography. Rammed earth walls, barriers and small green tiles of traditional buildings in Songyang were also used properly. The rare centuries-old trees in the village were also included in the architectural layout. The houses were spread around the ancient trees and imitated. Buddha takes ancient trees into his bosom, which is also the origin of the name "Yuanshe Lanshu". If viewed from a distance, the dormitory is like an ideal village embraced by mountains and rivers, hidden in the mountains.
Although dormitories are hidden in the mountains, there are many linguistic implications in the south of the Yangtze River. There are 17 guest rooms planned for boarding and lodging. The style of the guest rooms corresponds to the local culture of farming and reading in Songyang.
The corner of the guest room is full of the fragrance of books, reminding us of the leisure life of the ancients, "low paper sloping idle grass, fine milk drama tea" in the clear window.
There are desks, bookshelves and tea tables in the room, as well as clean supplies on the desks. Furniture furnishings are made of walnut with texture. Every room has a view terrace facing the green hill, curtains rolled, the green hill outside the window is like a picture scroll embedded in the room, like the "green Hill painting screen, boiling water and boiling tea" mountain living situation in Langyage Pavilion in Langyabang.
In terms of service, the original house has also achieved the ultimate, the smart home, high-end bedding, toiletries, carefully designed fragrance fully reflects the feeling of wild luxury.
In the public area, there are open-air thermostat pools, cafes, small bars, a long-life bookstore, as well as high and low open view terraces. There is also a restaurant in the dormitory. The local cooks in Songyang are invited. The local dishes are mostly made in Songyang. The cooking style at home is very warm.
It is the cold early autumn season when local beef is simmered on a small warm stove, coupled with rare wild vegetables in the city, which is an unforgettable mountain food.
