PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

LivFAMA was appointed the exposition design project by their client, AIRLAND Bedding Company, in the 2023 Shenzhen Exposition Design World Fair. LivFAMA design team was inspired by the client’s brand name, which the design concept was derived from the words: AIR and LAND. The design team utilized the brand’s Visual Identity into two simple key elements, which they were established quickly by dividing the vertical elevations into upper and lower divisions: the airy curtains in the air versed the weighty laminated platforms in the bottom. Visually, the brand’s symbols ware supersized through the overall space design, which it fully reminisced the brand’s story and utilized it for the client to re-understand the brand when they walked into the space that was derived from its name.
Besides the overall spatial design was a de-constructure of the Visual Identity, the internal floor plan layout was also inspired from the brand’s history: an orchid symbol from the brand founder. LivFAMA created multiple layers of free-flowing organic petal lines that can be found when sketching the floor plan. And together with the 130 meters long electro-filmed lighting modules that were purposed programed, the walk-in sensations were astonishing by reminiscing the internal structure of the orchid and seeing a slow motion of its blossoming.
LivFAMA design team took a straight-forward approach of recreating the brand’s symbol into the space, but they kept a deep understanding of the brand’s founding background and history. Throughout the design process, any overly designed ornaments were removed, and only the necessary elements were remained to deliver the brand’s message to the audiences. The message was a slowly developed thought and it was left deliberately. And it was derived from the historic beautiful oriental poem – The Peach Blossom Spring, by Tao Yuanming.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

BoXiaBay Coastal Park Project, located in Yangjuanzi Village, Gezhenbao Street, Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is an outstanding example of rural beauty construction and one of the most eye-catching scenic spots in the Dalian region.
Designed by Yang Minghui, Shen Bowen, and Zhou Haitao from Dalian Polytechnic University, the beautiful rural BoXiaBay Coastal Park of Yangjuanzi Village has recently gained popularity on social media platforms. Following the coverage by CNR, CCTV4, the project has become a newly emerging hotspot for online influencers in Dalian.
BoXiaBay Coastal Park, with a first-phase construction area of approximately 15,000 square meters, is situated within one of the three major bays of the Bohai Sea, a rare high-quality marine area in northern Dalian. Since its opening, BoXiaBay Coastal Park has become the preferred destination for local residents and tourists from other regions seeking leisure and entertainment, making significant contributions to the promotion and publicity of beautiful rural construction.
The name "BoXiaBay" is inspired by a poetic line from Wang Bo's "Tengwang Ge Xu" in the Tang Dynasty: The setting sun and lonely wild ducks fly together, and the autumn water extends to the sky in one color, vividly foreshadowing the picturesque scenery of BoXiaBay. The vibrant colors of the sky, mountains, and sea merge into one during sunset, creating a breathtaking scene. The red hues of the setting sun, orange auspicious clouds floating in the sky, golden wheat swaying in the wind, the green forest juxtaposed with the blue ocean—all form a canvas of seven-color light, nature's gift to the land of Yangjuanzi Village. The colorful cascading "waves" on the ground, with white seagulls circling above, resemble an oil painting, almost like a fairy tale, adding more beauty to the coastal area.
The whale tail sculpture in the Whale and Sea Square symbolizes the prosperity of all things, representing the beginning of a beautiful life. This unique and creative sculpture adds a distinctive cultural atmosphere to the entire park. The lighthouse standing on the coast is a prominent landmark of BoXiaBay Coastal Park, offering a 270-degree panoramic view of the sea. The red top of the tower, against the white tower body, serves as a guide for a better life. Some describe it as a mother, forever standing guard, guiding children on the way home. This scene not only provides visual impact but also symbolizes the direction and hope of a beautiful future.
The construction of BoXiaBay Coastal Park has not only boosted local tourism but also played an active role in promoting the advancement of beautiful rural areas. Through the dissemination on social media, it has attracted numerous visitors, increasing the visibility of Yangjuanzi Village. This project is not only an effective protection and utilization of local natural landscapes but also a vivid interpretation of the concept of beautiful rural construction. The successful experience of BoXiaBay Coastal Park will serve as a valuable reference for other regions, promoting the in-depth development of ecological civilization construction nationwide.
In summary, BoXiaBay Coastal Park, with its unique natural scenery and cultural elements, has become a striking business card for the Dalian region. Its construction has injected new vitality into the development of beautiful rural areas and provided an ideal place for people to appreciate nature and relax. BoXiaBay Coastal Park will continue to improve and develop, offering beautiful experiences to more people and becoming a well-known tourist destination not only in Dalian but throughout the country.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

This is an interior design project for a villa located in Yantai, China, integrating life and art to create a warm haven that meets the needs of every family member. Designers took Eastern aesthetics and natural elements as the main creative theme, providing clients with a residence where they can enjoy life to the fullest and be close to nature. Therefore, in terms of color selection, this project mainly uses natural wood and white, supplemented by shades of advanced gray, champagne, and green, appearing simple and elegant.
For spatial design, although different areas have different functional positioning, designers have achieved a clever combination of nature and art through diverse design methods. In the outdoor corridor, earth-colored wooden boards, orderly arranged stones, and lush welcoming pine trees form a natural picture, giving people a unique experience as if walking into the mountains and plains.
Inspired by modern techniques of Chinese garden architecture, courtyard design inherits the graceful style of pavilions, presenting a strong Eastern cultural atmosphere with materials such as Taihu stone and flower tiles.
The interweaving and decomposition of volumes in indoor space bring a stronger sense of structural beauty and create a new spatial order. Stepping into different functional areas, one is greeted with a leisurely atmosphere imbued with Eastern aesthetics. Designers organically combine elements such as lighting, wood, and metal to create an environment that is elegant yet artistic. Design elements such as panoramic glass walls, rustic bamboo decorations, various green plants, and landscape paintings successfully bring natural scenery into enclosed spaces, adding aesthetic interest.
While pursuing aesthetic experience, designers also consider the practical needs of clients and add practicality to different functional areas, fully demonstrating humanistic care and achieving harmonious coexistence of people, architecture, and ecology.

DESCRIPTION

The Source of Blessings Meditation Retreat features distinct spaces for meditation, tea ceremonies, and nourishment, guiding customers on a comprehensive journey that melds spirituality and aesthetics. This design prioritizes creating an environment conducive to Zen meditation practices, enveloping customers in an immersive contemplative experience through a blend of modern craftsmanship, natural elements, and Eastern culture.
The overall space is dominated by a palette of black, gray, and white, emanating a simple yet elegant allure. This harmonious color scheme creates a refreshing and serene ambience, beneficial for meditation practices. The design further leverages contemporary techniques in multiple elements including the concrete material, the vertically textured veneers evoking a sense of philosophical contemplation, and the interspersed accents of coarse stone finishes, enriching both texture and depth of the entire space. Complementing these materials are natural elements like flowers and the gentle patterns of water ripples, all converging into a modern meditation space steeped in an Eastern essence. Each area of the space is distinctly defined, yet seamlessly transitions into the next, creating a harmonious flow throughout. A gracefully designed corridor bridge links the reception area to the functional areas. Drawing inspiration from the imagery portrayed by the poetic verse — "The descending clouds align with the solitary wild geese in flight, while the tranquil waters mirror the vastness of the sky in a unified hue" — the transition at the entrance features a curving design reminiscent of a swallow sweeping its wings in flight. This design element injects a vibrant energy into the tranquil setting, weaving together an atmosphere that melds tranquility with dynamic diversity. The primary spaces, dedicated to meditation and tea ceremonies, are imbued in Eastern essence, meticulously adorned with classic Chinese elements for a serene and profound aesthetic ambiance. The unique layout of the tea ceremony space allows individuals to reflect and relax over tea, and the meditation space provides a peaceful environment for deep introspection. Furthermore, the Zen dance space and reception area are decorated with modern design elements like sleek lines and mirrors, standing in harmony with traditional Chinese decor. This blend of modern and classic aesthetics strikes a harmonious balance between the past and present.
Overall, the Source of Blessings Meditation Retreat exemplifies a distinctive and organic fusion of meditation practices, tea ceremonies, and the philosophy of health preservation. The harmonious interplay of colors, materials, and decorative elements represents a confluence of traditional and contemporary styles, transforming this space into a sanctuary that offers both spiritual enlightenment and aesthetic pleasure. Whether customers are in search of profound meditation or simply a leisurely spot, they will find a tranquil haven here to unwind and rejuvenate their minds.

Designer:Haoqian Tang

As a designer with an architectural background, I started from the initial furniture design and production, and then joined the interior design. In the interior design, or from the space itself as the starting point of design, so as to propose a more perfect solution. The spatial structure of the interior is considered with the spatial thinking of architecture, and the design is located in the dynamic interaction of experience, details, materials, forms and light. Kant said, "All cognition comes from the senses." Through the contact of theory and practice, it is considered that the design process is a small immersion space, so as to find the problem; It is also an enlarged free space to explore the organization.

DESCRIPTION

This is an interior space (exhibition) design project for Changshou District Museum located in Chongqing, China, hoping to organically integrate the function of local history, culture and educational into esthetics, and achieve a high level of unity between architecture and space, space and people, and people and culture. Considering the landscape of Changshou District and the cultural accumulation of longevity culture, the design team used gray stone walls to create a simple and elegant atmosphere, and interspersed with red sand of local mineral resources, implying the red genes in longevity and giving the space a simple and elegant Oriental charm.
The designer fully considers the viewing effect of tourists and reasonably sets the visiting route, enabling tourists fully communicate with the culture in the museum. As the first space after visitors enter the museum, the preface hall outlines the local history section in the form of dignified and graceful relief, allowing the audience to experience the cultural accumulation of different historical periods of longevity in a tranquil atmosphere, opening a historical and cultural tracing journey. Walking along the hall, the museum has an open layout with light ceilings, allowing visitors to immerse in a transparent and quiet environment. As for the space form, the design team adheres to the artistic principle and integrates the large art ladder into the simple and rhythmic space sequence, and decorated the pattern evolved from the word “shou”, relying on the basic form of the building, so that visitors can understand the imprint of longevity culture in the modern design context.
In addition, the office area is perfectly integrated with the landscape daylighting area, enabling the shadow of internal and external echo here. It strengthens the natural connection between the interior and the outside world with the exquisite landscape in the corridor landscape area through the glass, which not only adds some interest to the solemn space, but also enables the passers-by to fully relax their body and mind.

The original is our original intention and expectation for the design.
Pioneering is the source of creativity and the source of motivation to continuously inspire design inspiration. We reshape the old things, combine the trajectory of its culture and the pace of changes in the times, retain its essence, remove its dross, continue to explore new things, and through reorganization, make it produce brand-new value. The change of design ideology is the process of the transformation of people's way of thinking. It evolves with the space in which things exist. It can be time, environment, and people. How to regenerate things is the process of designing from scratch. Everything has both sides of self. It is the existence of contradictions. The shackles of each other are broken again, showing people a new perspective to solve problems. As a new force in the field of interiors and architecture, we uphold the essence of design and think for the coexistence of things.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

The Impress Milano clinic is located in a privileged location, on the corner, facing south, in a well proportioned space.
The Impress dental clinic concept is aimed at a young audience, which has grown with new technologies, since its offer is based on online treatments that reduce face-to-face visits. From the first moment, Impress looked for a fresh design, that represented the brand and its values, that moved away from the clichés of a dental clinic (white colors, aseptic environment).
The design takes into account the values of Impress and solves the entire program through a single gesture that organizes all the spaces: a single curve runs along the inteior accompanying the turn of the corner, encompassing all the functional spaces towards the interior, and freeing the area in contact with the facade to function as a waiting room or reception, allowing a global view of the interior from the street.
The curve itself is the abstraction of the Impress logo. In this way, the clinic is represented towards the outside in a very abstract way, since there are no clues about the use of the rooms, and at the same time very theatrical, where red color dyes floors and ceilings, and is repeated in the curtains which subtly enclose the small spaces that function as sales points, also cladded with red carpet on the walls, and with the furniture resolved with MDF boards also colored in red.

The curve is materialized in pine wood, giving, on the one hand, warmth to the whole, but also material refinement. When entering the cabinets, when crossing the line of the curve in plan, the colors shift, reds turn white and vice versa, highlighting the transition between different ambiences by means of the material code. This is specially outlined in the two dental boxes at both ends, where the wood curve is interrupted and continued by curtains, creating gathering spaces towards the street and treatment spaces towards the interior.
This representative and theatrical aspect not in vain refers to Teatro alla Scala in Milano, resolved in the same tones.
All ceiling elements are rotated 45º, again echoing the corner position; mirrors cladd doors and duplicate the spaces, again adding complexity to the interior spatial experience; the furniture is always red; the dental chairs are red and white… all the elements have been taken care of in detail to reinforce the conceptual and material coherence of the design.
The rest of the rooms, more functional, such as dressing rooms, sterilization room, staff room, are resolved in the basement.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

From the outset, the structural intervention required overhauling the foundation, high precision in placing the central squares, as well as the precise cutting of the existing wooden beams for the openings and double heights. The cut wooden beams either rest on the new steel porticos or lean on the lower wing of the new beams, always for the purpose of allowing the clean extrusion of the squares.
The duplex is equipped with underfloor heating with a highly efficient air-therm system.

On the ground floor, three existing paintings of Brazilian origin have been preserved, and the proposed inside circulation places them right at the stairs exit. These paintings are the reason the client, of Brazilian origin herself, initially decided to buy these two properties and undertake the project.
