DESCRIPTION

Design is a very meaningful thing, and in Guiyang Hongfeng Lake to transform a courtyard boutique homestay more pleasant. We abandon the traditional homestay space design, we hope to use a garden experience through our whole design line, so that guests enter the homestay gate to check in at the moment, the inner emotions can be fully released, feel a quiet world.
In addition to satisfying the basic accommodation functions of the guests, we hope that the guests can stop in their hurried steps and feel the interest in the process of walking. Different from the general small courtyard, we designed a landscape courtyard close to 700 square meters. There are mountains, water and scenery in the courtyard. From then on, the days will never be missed with sunshine and rain. In addition to the design process of the scene, we try to return to true on space material, because we always feel good space design, design is not fancy, expensive materials, but the regression of cuts, a kind of emotional output, old wood old blue tiles green stone and these common materials just give a person a kind of quiet simple power, and mottled dry well old stone to give people to the traces of time.
The design of the indoor area is natural and comfortable, simple material (the wall of old wood art paint, etc.) and the soft assembly decoration of pure hand draw the outline of the outline of the "pastoral will wu, hu does not return" artistic conception.
Restoration, preservation, growth from the inside... is a good embodiment of the entire enclosed building space, if summarized, the house can be summed up. I like the word "growth" very much, and the past and the present can be included, including a combination of the new and the old.
Survival, growth and rebirth are our transformation and revival strategies of similar villages in the house and in the current situation in China. It is not to demolish and rebuild or repair the old, but to follow the historical development context, put the current development concept and functional needs into them, and reorganize and organize the layout, functional business forms, and the relationship between the new and the old.
As the writer Wang Xiaobo said: it is not enough for a person to have this life, he should have a poetic world. For me, —— the world is right by the picturesque Red Maple Lake.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

This is the first cultural tourism resort in Sichuan with agricultural culture as the theme. Anchored in the quintessential Western Sichuan style exemplified by Dazengba Village in Qionglai, this design artfully fuses the aesthetics of traditional Chinese gardens with the natural setting of this region. This resort offers a mix of B&B accommodations, diverse artistic catering venues, and a children's art and creativity center, serving as a modern reinterpretation of Western Sichuan's architectural culture.
This site spans from northwest to southeast, with its landscape thoughtfully designed around nine key crops that are essential in farming culture. This project encompasses residential areas, lush forests, and fertile farmland. Its design refers to the famous Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou, while preserving the intrinsic spatial essence of this region. Central to this design is the ancient Chinese philosophy—Unity of Heaven and Mankind. Here, the natural landscape is seamlessly merged with the architectural characteristics, further enriched by an abundance of greenery to foster a symphony of nature and culture.
This design cleverly manipulates visual perception and spatial dynamics. The allure of natural surroundings is subtly invited inside to enhance visual richness, and the interior elements are thoughtfully arranged to create a lively interplay. Here, artistic flair is harmoniously intertwined with vibrant energy. These approaches foster an environment where each design aspect enhances the others. As visitors wander through the space, the scenery dynamically unfolds, offering an immersive experience.
From the grand layout to the finest detail, each aspect of this project pays homage to the traditional Chinese garden art and blends it with modern aesthetics. This synthesis makes the site not just an idyllic resort but also a perfect venue for visitors to deeply engage with and explore the richness of traditional Chinese culture and philosophy.
This project employs a holistic approach involving dismantling, refurbishing, and reconstructing. The roof architecture is influenced by traditional grey-tiled hanging hill roofs, with gabled or single-pitched curved variations to complement different structures. This method not just inherits but also innovates upon traditional architectural forms. Furthermore, the locally sourced materials such as rough stones, grey bricks, and logs ensure that the buildings aesthetically harmonize with the natural surroundings. As an integral part of the local culture, these distinctive buildings vividly narrate the uniqueness and allure of Western Sichuan culture to visitors.
The interior design merges traditional Western Sichuan culture with the contemporary demands of cultural tourism through deconstruction, aimed at both preserving and highlighting the essence of the regional culture, while infusing it with modern elegance. The cultural and creative hub is designed to immerse children in the unique regional culture, foster their creativity and imagination through education, and enhance family interactions. It also showcases the rich heritage and contemporary evolution of Western Sichuan culture, reinterpreting traditional culture in a fresh and vibrant manner.

Agency:YI Design Studio

YI Design Studio was founded by Chinese architect Yiting Guo. Its design style is based on the research and exploration of traditional Chinese history and culture. In the design creativity, most of them deconstruct the integration of traditional Chinese architectural culture and modern architectural technology with the regional critical concept of "local internationalization", break the regional boundaries, integrate eastern and western elements, and strive to pursue perfection in details and quality, so as to find the balance point between tradition and modernity. With more than 40 years of experience, he has many excellent case works in urban planning, architecture and interior design, and landscape design.

DESCRIPTION

White is the most wonderful color in the world because you can see all the colors of the rainbow in it.The whiteness of white is that it is always just white; it is almost always transformed by light and is always changing; the sky, the clouds, the sun and the moon.——Richard Meyer.
This project is located in Riyue Bay, Wanning, Hainan, and is the main building of the Yeshu B&B Hotel. The advantages of the plot and the surrounding environment are not outstanding, so when devising the building block, we set back the entrance to the street as much as possible. The layers of stairs show the trees’ continuous upward growth, giving people a sense of orderly beauty between light and shadow.
The structure of the pure white building block outlines minimalist and powerful lines, showing the cleanest and clearest state in nature.Set against the blue of the sky, the senses are filled with ultimate enjoyment. Each side of the building presents a different state of beauty, and a multi-dimensional lifestyle unfolds here.
The overall interior space uses simple techniques and circular circulation lines to construct the space, enhancing the privacy of each room. At the same time, the large floor-to-ceiling windows in each small space allow the natural environment to be harmoniously integrated into the interior.
The swimming pool serves as a medium connecting the inside and outside of the building. Through the open block, the light shines into the corridor space, further emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between the spaces.Sunlight shines through the flowing water waves, adding a layer of vivid color to the overall architectural space. The steps run through the swimming pool, and through the narrow porch, you can enter the second phase of the sandy seaside villas and beach area.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

In Jiande, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, a dive club project called "Randall C40+" is emerging as not only a building, but also a kind of urban memory, a regeneration of a calcium carbonate factory, a collision of old and new cultures, and a miracle of waves surging through the mountains. Blending old and new, recreating urban memories, the unique feature of the "Randall C40+" project is that it preserves part of the original calcium carbonate factory's vertical kiln, skilfully integrating the old building with modern design. In the context of urban regeneration, one kiln has been preserved, and the ruins of three kilns bear witness to the changes in the city. In the design of the building, we adopted the red brick texture to preserve the old building's appearance, while introducing modern elements to create a trendy façade. The fusion of the old and the new gives "Randall C40+" both historical depth and modern vigour.

Project:Qingdao“ Experience Nature view tide” homestay project design
Design by:S.G.T.design,Co.,Ltd,Beijing
Lead designer:Han Dequan
Main participating designers:Liu Wenyuan\Piao Shiyu\Wang Jingjing
project area: :1463.37m2
Main materials:Reinforced concrete, lightweight bricks, steel, real stone paint, glass
Project location: Laoshan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province
Completion date: August 2023
Photographers: Han Dequan, Wang Yi
Located in the Laoshan Scenic Area of Qingdao, this is a project based on the renovation of an existing building. The site has a unique sea view. The entire base is open to the sea, providing a maximized visual surface for viewing the sea; at the same time, the vertical elevation of the base shows a gradual decline on the sea-facing side, which also provides different heights for viewing the sea; in addition, the sea is on the north side of the base, which provides a permanent and bright sea for Qingdao, which is situated to the north of the Tropic of Cancer.
The most important objective of the design is to maximize the use of the sea view while organizing the interior space. One way is to provide a great sea view experience for people arriving at the site, and the other way is to still have enough possibilities to explore the interior.
First of all, based on the current building layout, this project changes the layout of the renovated building into a form that is open to the sea in order to maximize the use of sea view resources. At the same time, the original height difference of the base is further strengthened, and the building is designed as a compact and non-interfering three-story terrace form, in which each floor and each room has an excellent and differentiated sea view. Based on the original building conditions, the building space was re-divided to create various functional spaces with different spatial forms and different ways of viewing the sea. There are long spaces with longitudinal sea views, horizontal spaces that provide long horizontal sea views, and shaped spaces that provide novel sea experiences.
In addition, based on the current conditions of the site and the building, the indoor and outdoor spaces of the site are reorganized to make the internal space show different forms, step by step scenery, and colorful changes. The original straight corridors are transformed into green corridors; the original single flow line is transformed into a rich walking path full of scenery (not only sea view); the original side-by-side monotonous guest rooms are transformed into landscape rooms full of individuality with different ways of entry, different interior spaces and different views.
For the two houses near the sea, we carried out a large-scale in-situ renovation, transforming the original monotonous and dilapidated building into a space with excellent sea-side qualities, providing a never-before-seen experience of "waves lapping in front of your eyes".
For the taller building on the south side of the compound, we have also made major changes while retaining the original structure. The original room divisions on the first floor have been broken up and reorganized, and the corridors between the rooms have been redesigned - the planes zigzag and the introduction of skylight creates the quality of "winding paths", while at the same time keeping the entrances of the guest rooms private from each other.
In the landscape design, we transformed the original messy outdoor space to match the building space. The outdoor space on the south side of the building, i.e. on the third floor of the original building, has been turned into a private courtyard for guest rooms and a winding public walkway; the outdoor space facing the sea has been designed as a space for entertainment with public attributes and a private courtyard for guest rooms, and in between the two, we have designed a "trumpet" shaped ramp that can lead to the sponge directly. Guests can then walk directly into the sea. The outdoor space on the east side of the site was transformed into a dining out area connected to the roof of the restaurant, where people can get close to the sea while dining, or even walk up to the roof of the restaurant to experience the "view of the mountains".
