PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Located in Hainan, China, this beach service station encapsulates the traits of seafront buildings. The designer hopes to create a profile between ocean and buildings. Between the twos, hidden the building, peacefully coexists with the environment. The roof is designed as a two-stage thermo-infinity pool. Looking at the ocean from the pool on the roof, water flows over the wall of the pool perfectly merges with the surging seawater, as if the pool and the sea are one. Hence, subtly hidden the atmosphere of the architecture, as the designer hopes to capture every profile of this uniquely designed building. On the roof, the flowing pool converges to the right side of the building to form a waterfall through the dark ditch outside the wall of the pool. Flowing through the colorful mosaics-wall, the flowing water emerges as a rainbow waterfall, which not only enlivens the atmosphere of the entire architecture, but also soften the boundary between the building and the surroundings. The spiral staircases on both sides of the building are set in accord with the moving line, which strikes a visual impression and provides the platform for taking pictures on the beach. The beach is connected with sightseeing roads. The exterior glass curtain wall is covered with sea-blue mosaics, which not only ensures sufficient natural light, but also enables the interior and exterior appear more spacious and flowing. The curtain wall, echoes with the surging ocean outdoors, is equipped with wavy shaped aluminum panels to extrude the elements of ocean and wave. Given the local climatic conditions, the main building is made of ferroconcrete, the railings outdoors is made of seawater-resistant 316L stainless steel, and the glass of the railing is made of laminated tempered glass. On the facade, the building adopts three-layer hollow laminated tempered glass curtain wall, and the glass joints of the curtain wall are protected and fixed by wavy aluminum square passes, which satisfy the needs of separation and privacy both indoor and outdoor; meanwhile, resisting typhoons effectively. The interior is divided into three parts: the reception hall, the dressing room and the shower. Due to the saturated air, the indoor walls and floors are covered with high-grade gray tiles, which effectively prevent humidity and provide visitors with a sense of visual tranquility. In the showers for man and women, Tiffany Blue and Hermes Orange are used as color partitions, thereby enhancing the vitality of the interior and a sense of fluid color. The details of indoor partitions and door frames are all made of colorful acrylic, which harmonizes the interior color and creates a sense of spatial level.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Located in Xiqing District, Tianjin, along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the ancient town of Yangliuqing once served as the hub dock of water transportation connecting the North and South. Since the establishment of the town in the Jin Dynasty, it has gone through the Yuan, Ming, Qing, and the Republic of China dynasties, with a history of over a thousand years. With more and more choices of transportation and logistics in the contemporary world, the necessity of the Grand Canal has been declining year by year, and so do the unique geographical location and economic significance of the ancient town. The traditional ancient architectures in this town, which are mainly made of blue bricks and gray tiles, have been gradually left behind by the tide of people and the times.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

In 2021, along with the implementation of the national "Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal crossing the National Cultural Park", the mini-theater of Yangliuqing as the initially launched project of the national cultural park, was brought back to the spotlight again. In addition to revitalizing the local economy and providing a venue for traditional opera and cross talk for the local residents, the project also plays a significant role in building a new platform for the inheritance of the traditional Chinese opera and cultures. The design team refined and reconstructed the traditional architectural features of Yangliuqing based on their knowing of traditional dwellings in northern China: using local bricks and gray tiles to ensure the inheritance of local traditions while allowing the new building to better integrate into the environment and enhance the overall visual unity; the form of the structure is optimized and reconstructed by transforming the traditional sloped roof into a continuous curved surface, like the wave and the winding mountain water.
On top of this, considering that the size of the theater might overwhelm the surrounding ancient structures, the design team combined with the practical and functional requirements and adjusted the height: the ridge is the stage part of the theater, the height of the floor should also meet the requirements of the stage exhibition, while the height of the lower one is the audience seats, effectively reducing the overall height of the structure. In the open area, the design team has not only taken the need for outdoor activities in the square into account, but also cleverly combined part of the roof with the audience stands, so that the theater can take part in the daily life of all the residents in this town, providing a recreational zone for pedestrians and children.
Based on innovation, this project not only inherits the traditional elements and memories of Yangliuqing, but also sets up a new direction for the modernization, and injecting new vitality into this ancient town.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Brand-new methods and ideas arose as computational aided design technology was increasingly improved and introduced into architectural design at the end of 20th century. Since then, human beings have gained the capacity of form-finding with more freedom and creativity. In recent years, along with the completion of some architectural projects in organic and intricate forms, architects start to use the “morphological evolution” method to intelligently generate architectural forms inspired from the same way nature does.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Just as above, Intelligent Form came into being. The cutting-edge method of topological optimization has been introduced in this design. Meanwhile, The bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization (BESO) technique and an additive manufacturing method have been applied to design the structure and fabricate the formwork, which integrate the inspiration of natural morphological evolution into architectural component form-finding. The strategy aims to find the solution with the highest structural performance under certain material limitations by restructuring the amount of architecture materials.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

With the assistance of BESO technique, Intelligent Form is no longer stranded by environment conditions and manufacturing techniques, eventually achieving optimal structural performance and material distribution. Intelligent Form has been constructed as a prototype through 3D printing mould and casting ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC).
Together with 3D printing formworks in architectural scale and spraying thin UHPC wall components, the project is completed in an entire digital workflow with high efficiency and high quality. The techniques developed from this innovative design project for constructing free-form architectural prototypes have the potential to be applied to large-scale spatial structures and signal the future direction of façade elements manufacturing.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Park Lane Manor Project is located in xibeiwang of Xishan. The land is an irregular trapezoidal plot, long from north to south and short from east to west. Due to its 30 degree deflection from north to south to east, it gives the planning layout of the plot more flexibility and diversity. When the previous approach of creating a living environment in a regular and uniform layout was taken into account, the design idea of an eclectic living community suddenly jumped out of the design sketch and became the soul core of the whole project design.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

In the whole project design of Park Lane Manor exhibition center, we tried to find a way to explore the essence of Eastern culture with new aesthetic concepts, and at the same time integrate the pure spirit of minimalism, create a new architectural form that can adapt to the development of The Times, and let the Value of Chinese aesthetic return.
Monomer in the center of the Park Lane Manor, in the design of our using for reference the lyrics in the traditional Chinese painting techniques, concise draw inspiration from Chinese landscape and architectural form horizontal level a few brush, simply put the Oriental elegance of the depths of the soul, the so-called avenue to Jane, this expression is very tension for the environment, context, function, mental side of desire expression after fusion.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

Facade material with transparent glass surface as the main bottom, emphasizing horizontal lines, using stone to enhance the sense of calm. The overall color is mainly black, white and grey, and the stone material is cold grey granite, which is different from the others. With the gradual progression of light grey, medium grey and dark grey of large area aluminum plate, the rich expression of the facade is produced. The use of a large area of transparent glass makes the indoor lighting more free, and the panoramic canopy connects the scenery to the living space.
The facades combined with the virtual and the solid, the use of glass, stone and aluminum panels, and the reference of landscape and curtain wall show the interest of clean urban life in the post-industrial era. Modernist architectural aesthetics as the background color, advocates efficient, concise, rational new generation of luxury aesthetic, and through the texture of materials, line design, Oriental aesthetics and other design languages, showing the technology and calm architecture.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

All these carving, on the one hand, is to change the homogenized urban appearance of the present situation of the xibeiwang region, which lacks characteristics; On the other hand, it is also an achievement of design to let residents find the cultural imprints neglected in the high development of the city. If life can be changed accordingly, it is also an achievement of design.
Beijing Park Lane Manor exhibition center integrates aesthetics and philosophy into the experience space, deducing the low-key and gentle artistic temperament. Based on the demand of green living, the project follows the modern style in the architecture, introduces the natural and elegant style in the landscape, and uses the elegant and simple technique in the hardcover, so as to outline a living picture that conforms to the contemporary urban upstart.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

The courtyard landscape design of the villa "Qi Yu (The Book of Songs) strength of character, gathering talents and elegant residence" is located in the backyard of a villa in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The site area is 800㎡, the pattern is square, the north side is close to the river in the park, and the external environment is beautiful and natural. Through modern landscape construction techniques, realize a low-key luxury and creative external courtyard environment, and create a mature men's private villa courtyard space integrating quality, style, comfort and tranquility.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

1. Fully functional villa space
The owner of the villa is an accomplished gentleman. He wants to build an ideal country for himself and his friends: build a garden house through multi person gathering space, free activity space, semi private rest space, waterscape and plant space. It not only meets the daily life and leisure needs of the owner, but also can accommodate many people at once.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

2. Site characteristics of landscape art
The irregular boundary formed by the meandering river controls the Aesthetic Logic of the site. The spatial relationship of landscape geometry gradually makes the whole volume grow slowly from north to south through deduction, collage, reduction and reconstruction. Such geometric language shapes a new geometric relationship of landscape and vivid space. The whole site is permeated and covered with green plants and gravel from high to low. The place where they gather forms an activity space. This evolution establishes a new landscape for the whole site to observe mountains and rivers and evaluate itself.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

3. Design theme of Qi Yu strength of character
The geometric landscape image space needs the spirit of Chinese culture to penetrate the texture and endow the soul. The bide phenomenon that can be seen everywhere in Chinese gardens stems from the emotional and symbolic quality given to landscape in Chinese philosophical allusions.
The Qi Yu chapter in< the book of songs >is a poem praising men's image, talent and morality. Each chapter of the poem starts with "green bamboo", praising the noble demeanor and integrity of a gentleman by virtue of the straightness, green and density of green bamboo, creating a precedent of using bamboo to describe people. It shows that the beauty of a gentleman lies in the acquired accumulation and cultivation of knowledge and sharpening morality.
Qi Yu originally means the place where the water bank of Qi river bends. The north side of the courtyard is connected with the water system of the park. The geographical environment of lush forest and bamboo is very appropriate to the poetry. The owner of the villa is also a modest gentleman with lofty sentiments, brilliant talents and successful career. The theme of Qi Yu complements each other. This gardening technique actually expresses the belief of the garden owner and the pursuit of life ideal, realizes this spirit through natural scenery, and interprets the design theme of Qi Yu character and gathering talents.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

4. Unique landscape expression
We start with the theme narrative space, and the material selection and implementation process is the realization of imagination. The large-scale still water features and tortuous crossing Ting, and the treatment of tree pools in the water make the courtyard more pure. From the black-and-white iterative stone pavement to the staggered growth of the flower border, the materials and artistic techniques are integrated into the natural texture of landscape geometry, so that everything grows naturally, as if it is not carved, but exquisite and attentive, glowing with new brilliance.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

5. Plant culture taking into account the four seasons
The overall plant landscape takes bamboo as the background and "three friends in winter" as the ornament, which is in line with the gentleman's way of standing expressed by the overall landscape. In terms of flowering plants, wax plum, lotus, chrysanthemum and begonia among the "ten friends of flowers" are selected to enrich the plant level, take into account the landscape of the four seasons and integrate the meaning of plant culture. Each flower and leaf is closely linked to the theme of Qi Yu style and gathering talents.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

6. Comfortable and relaxed node space
The new space can make the place glow with new life. The author hopes to create different space places, including self-help barbecue area, lawn reception area, outdoor sofa rest area and tea pavilion, so as to provide rich and diverse comfortable experiences for the guests and owners of the villa.
The host leads the guests up the light steps to the tea pavilion to taste a pot of landscape and sublimate the soul again. Here, the host serves tea for the guests. The tea ceremony thought of "harmony, respect, purity and silence" is integrated with the villa courtyard space of "looking, traveling, traveling and living". Three or five friends watch the shadow of the lake, listen to the singing of leaves and birds, feel the breeze to help the face, taste tea, take a break here, and aftertaste the leisurely scenery all the way.

Designer: Zhang Xiaoxi

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

The project is located 800 meters to the north of The Old Summer Palace in Beijing, in the core area of the Three Mountains and Five Gardens and Haidian Silicon Valley. To the north is zhongguancun, Shangdi, Yongfeng, Cuihu and other science and innovation parks, overlooking China's science and innovation Silicon Valley. To the south are the Old Summer Palace, the Summer Palace and the campuses of Peking University and Tsinghua University. Rare cultural and technological collision and integration here, from entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs to life, talent home vein, build a better life.
The project is a new Chinese mansion style, covering an area of 61,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 120,000 square meters, with a floor area ratio of 1.1. It is a pure foreign house and villa community with 4-5 floors, with a main area of 235-290 square meters for five bedrooms and a small amount of 196 square meters for four bedrooms.
The original intention of Old Summer Palace One is to build a house for a square mountain garden, which is the respect and respect for the century-old Mountain garden in Beijing Haidian District. It is really implemented in the design process of site selection, shaping, gardening and building. Therefore, from every detail of eaves, curtain, garden, courtyard, hall, hall, porch and bedroom, you will see the tacit understanding and architectural meaning of century-old mountain garden flowing in the land, culture and architecture.
From the architect's point of view, truly successful architecture often creates a new sense of ritual in its interaction with the natural environment. The traditional Chinese architectural form -- the shape of a bird spreading its wings, light and active roof ridge and cornices are the unique vocabulary of Chinese architecture. The upturned corner of the roof not only expands the lighting surface, but also helps to discharge rainwater, adding upward movement to the building and creating the unique flying and brisk charm of Chinese architecture.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

In the facade design of Old Summer Palace One, the floating roof can be said to be the originality of nature. The low density land quality of 1:1 plot ratio makes Old Summer Palace One, which has strict height limit, look like being in a natural garden, surrounded by forests and lush trees at all times. Therefore, how to make the building stand out in the natural enclosure of forests of three hills and five gardens has become the core proposition of the designer.
Fortunately, the designer found the elegant and light Chinese roof in the painting Of Crane thousands of years ago. Therefore, on the basis of referring to the technical regulations of roof design in traditional Chinese ancient architecture books such as "Building French", the shape and structure of the roof of Old Summer Palace One are carefully carved. At the same time, modern materials such as stone and glass are used to build a transparent, elegant and thick building volume, which is very light to lift the roof. The whole roof presents a beautiful floating posture on the forest, successfully creating a bright, elegant and warm homecoming scenery for the owner.
In the design of the living room, the extreme wide, short and deep is one of the biggest highlights of Old Summer Palace One. Compared with other super high-end residential improvement, the maximum width of the main apartment of 235-290 square meters is 20.9m, the minimum is 19.2m, and the ratio of width to depth is 1.5, which is rare. It can completely match the works of international first-line mansions, and the indoor owners are truly integrated with the outdoor mountain garden.
This unique experience in 290 ㎡ side hall door model the perfection, in without block vision, nearly 70 ㎡ with 270 degrees of corner side hall, indoor table side hall, Chinese and western social eat hutch line configuration, the sun the wind uninvited, free flowing, and outdoor natural zero distance connection, realize the mountain to see the homes, and, behold, the heavens and the earth.
Architecture is a solidified poem on the land, and the land is the gene for the sustainable growth of architecture. Therefore, the deeper the understanding of the land, the more perfect the architecture will be. As a masterpiece of 40 years of ingenuity, it is impossible to find a Old Summer Palace One. From the dimensions of architecture, garden, house type, science and technology system, all-round construction of living aesthetics: from the color, material, size and so on, fine cut each detail of eaves screen, so that the mountain garden in Old Summer Palace One presents elegant, dignified, coagulate natural beauty; By elaborating the traditional techniques of yuanming Garden, we focus on creating each scene of gardens, courtyards, sketches and water systems, so that the craftsmanship of 40 years will shine brightly in each part of Old Summer Palace One ode and build a beautiful life.

PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

four lines of “Ten Songs for Comely Tonglu” by Fan Zhongyan during conception, which mainly depicts a travelling scene. When travelling in Tonglu, the poet was captivated by the misty Wulong Mountain, the gorgeous scenes of which have sunk everything into oblivion. His moods seem to be one with the white clouds, dashing and ethereal. The poet expressed his delight and easiness by the tenderness and brightness of mountains and clouds. To restore this tenderness and brightness, the design team selected inky steel as the framework of the bus shelter that support the whole product like a standing inkstick, and a large number of glass is utilized to erect the transparent and bright bus shelter. To vitalize it, the design team print images of local landscapes which reduce the monotony of traditional bus shelters and further embody the cultural deposits and aesthetics. On the aspect of culture, this design can serve as an approach for tourists to learn something about Tonglu. On the aspect of function, it is well-lighted and sustainable. Besides, it is an advertisement to showcase the distinctive landscape culture of this most beautiful county in China
