DESCRIPTION
On August 8, 2017, affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Jiuzhaigou County, Intercontinental Resort Jiuzhai Paradise was severely damaged and the hotel was therefore suspended along with the Jiuzhaigou scenic area.
JHD was commissioned by the owner of Chengdu Global Century in mid-2019 to participate in the overall interior design, exterior renovation and overall soft furnishing design of the hotel.
As a hotel renovation project, the owner wanted to preserve the historical style of the hotel and meet the current aesthetics at a very low cost control, GYD integrated all factors, preserved the Tibetan color impression, refined and finely portrayed the regional elements. For cost control and consideration of the earthquake zone, the façade material innovatively adopts thin stone panels with natural texture and Tibetan style side marble wall practice to portray an atmosphere with Tibetan culture.
