DESCRIPTION
Chinese name of the ‘Cheng Shan’, means cheongsam, which represent the beauty of ladies, showing the nobleness and heritage. By using contemporary art lines, logo design concept of the hotel contains Chinese aesthetics, and incorporates the starting point of the cheongsam element. It is combination of virtual and real, sizing up shapes.
Facade: façade design keeps the original architectural style to the utmost extent and also follows the combination of Chinese and western elements. It is rigorously cut in proportions, with a symmetrical visual perception of left and right, and the eclectic glass floater, which implements the combination of movement and stillness.
Lobby of the first floor: The spatial design of lobby and leisure area pay more attention to its function, meets the convenience of checking-in. The usage of contrasting colors make the entire space full of dramatic visual impact.
The display area of first floor: With surrounded items of the cheongsam, the display area perfectly echoes the theme. The verse ‘I would rather live as a vegetarian than live without bamboo’ of Su Shi’s famous poem, a litterateur of the Northern Song Dynasty. The designer uses contemporary design techniques to present concrete bamboo elements to express abstract expressions, so as to build an interior landscape.
The aisle and elevator hall of standard floors: the designer hopes to blur the attributes of the space, relying on the interaction generated by the space, thus the space is a place produce the unknown. When the space has emotions, people may experience more advanced life. The designer uses the techniques of garden landscaping, creates small interior landscape, eliminates the visual and psychological boundaries of public spaces, coexists the beauty of inside and out, allows users have unlimited interaction with spaces in the process of artistic creation, ways of thinking, and inspiration.
Restaurant: The main color remains the design of the restaurant, but lighting is more restrained and neutral. Under the blending of indirect light sources, materials and objects exude unpretentious colors and natural textures are in harmony with the volume and interior atmosphere.
Suite: It is an unified and comfortable space with rational use of themed colors, the harmonious collision of materials, the aesthetic modelling, and the soft decoration details of both modern and oriental design.
Guest room: Based on the implementation of the overall design ideas, the warm texture of the materials combines with the tough geometric lines, and echoes the lighting, conveying the mood and restoring the authenticity of the space with the restrained aesthetic elements.
Designer: Bo Hong
Solar, Hong is the founder and chief designer of Guangzhou Haibo Decoration Co., Ltd. (HBD), studied in design, an EMBA of School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University; senior interior designer. He has been in design and decoration industry for nearly 20 years and has been responsible for the presidential planning and design of many large-scale projects. Won a number of domestic awards, published and reported by various media and publications, and was invited to serve as a guest speaker for many design activities and jury of several design awards.
In this rapid developed commercial era, a large amount of uninteresting materials and design schemes have emerged, they are no story-telling aspect, no tender feelings. Mr. Hong believes that excellent interior design should be "interesting" and can bring "resonance" to its users. The design should be understand the architecture and create a suitable artistic conception through continuous improvement. When interior design has perfect tender feelings with the external environment, the work can reach an unprecedented achievement, thus ‘the luxury both inside and out’.
